Education 

A good, sound Educational system is the bedrock of a good, sound Democracy and a good, sound Economy. This is being deliberately destroyed as we watch.  

 

My parents fought steep odds to get good educations, and we were brought up to believe that education is the only way to a just, prosperous and civil society and a better life for all.  

Here's what's happening since January 20th, 2025:

 

• Dismantling of the federal Department of Education

• Defunding School Lunch programs and programs that help kids with challenges. 

• Targeting, threatening, intimidating and defunding our independent higher educational institutions who refuse to bend the knee to the White House.

• Trying to "re-write" history and kill science-based curricula to serve ideologies that have no place in a modern society. There are NO SUCH THINGS as "alternative facts". 

• -- and much more....

 

It seems apparent that the Republican Party believes that ignorance is the best policy. An uneducated population is more likely to accept misinformation and policies harmful to our Democracy.

AND OUR REPRESENTATIVES SEEM TO BE JUST FINE WITH THIS. WE DESERVE BETTER! 

 

If I am elected to represent CD2, I will fight tooth and nail to protect and improve Education at all levels for all Nebraskans
